"Couples massage" is a phrase used loosely around the world. In Bangkok it has a very specific meaning, and getting it right makes the difference between a sweet 60 minutes and the kind of evening you'll still talk about a year later.
What "couples massage" actually means in Thailand
It's two people, side by side, in the same room, on two beds (for oil) or two mats (for traditional Thai), receiving the same treatment from two different therapists at the same time. It is not — repeat, not — one therapist alternating between two guests. Real couples massage is genuinely simultaneous.
The room is set up for it: dim and quiet, with two beds arranged so you can hold hands across the gap if you want. Music is shared. Oils are matched (or different — your choice). Both treatments start and end together.
Who books it in Bangkok
- Couples on holiday — the single most-booked group, especially on first or last evening of a trip.
- Honeymooners — most pair it with a romantic dinner afterwards.
- Friends and sisters — yes, a "couples" room is for any two people who want to share the experience. Mother-and-daughter is one of our sweetest regulars.
- Anniversary celebrations — let us know in advance and we'll have a small handwritten card waiting in the room.
- "I-need-to-properly-apologise" bookings. No comment.
What to book
The most-booked couples option, by a wide margin, is:
90 minutes · Thai Oil Signature for two · medium pressure, your choice of aroma oil (lavender, lemongrass, Thai spa, rose, or coconut), private dimmed room. Add a 30-minute foot reflexology starter to make it two full hours.
Why oil over traditional Thai for couples?
- Beds are easier than mats when you're sharing a room — no awkward floor-shuffle.
- Oil is naturally calmer, more romantic, more sensory.
- You can both fall asleep mid-session, which is half the magic.
That said, if you and your partner are both into yoga or have specifically tight bodies, traditional Thai for two is wonderful — just expect to be more awake.
Best time to book
- The "day-1 reset" — book on your first afternoon in Bangkok, after lunch and before dinner. You'll start the trip relaxed instead of jet-lagged.
- Anniversary evening — book the 8 PM slot, then walk to dinner straight from the spa with that floaty post-massage feeling.
- Last night of the trip — the perfect "and now we sleep on the plane" send-off.
- Late-night romance slot — we're open until 1 AM, last booking 12:45 AM. A 10 PM massage after a long evening out is a Bangkok specialty.
Where to go
Both of our branches have dedicated couples rooms — On Nut and Phra Khanong. Each room is private and dimmed, with two beds set close enough to hold hands but spaced enough for the therapists to work properly. Showers are available before and after.
If you'd rather stay in your hotel: our at-home service happily sends two therapists to your suite. Tell us the room dimensions when you book — we just need around 4 metres of floor for the two beds.
How to make it more special (small things matter)
- Tell us why you're celebrating when you book. We'll add a card and arrange the room a bit more carefully.
- Choose oils together. Lavender + Thai spa is our most-requested couples pairing; rose and coconut are popular too.
- Skip the after-massage water for tea — Thai blue pea or chrysanthemum, which we serve in our studios.
- Plan the next 3 hours intentionally. Couples massage is at its best when the rest of the evening is unhurried — a long dinner, a slow walk, an early hotel night.
Mention it on WhatsApp when you book and we'll have a small handwritten card waiting in the room and dim the lights a touch lower. No charge — it's just nice.
Etiquette & modesty
The same etiquette as a solo session applies — undress to your underwear, lie under a towel, the therapist drapes the parts not being worked on. There's no awkwardness; couples rooms are designed exactly for this. Both therapists will leave the room while you change in privacy and reappear together when you're settled.
Pricing
Couples massage in our studios is simply 2× the solo rate of whichever treatment you choose — there's no "couples surcharge." At-home couples sessions add the same modest travel fee as solo at-home, not double. Full pricing is on our booking page.

Couples rooms book up fastest on Friday and Saturday evenings — please reserve at least a day in advance for those slots.
